Is it bad that it's raining in the basement?

Well, another exciting evening! Bob (next door) came over to help me fill the new aquarium. While downstairs hooking a hose to the tub, to save me from carrying 159 buckets of water through the house, he stepped on a rug and asked me why it was soaken wet. Then we noticed water pouring out of the ceiling. Ah... the kitchen drain pipe, which I had just doused with "Drano," let go. There are now buckets under leaks in the basement ceiling and under the sink. The cupboard door's open to let it dry out and the cats find this the most interesting thing ever! Can't stay away from it.

Bob, (my husband, not Bob next door,) came home from work at 12:30am and dismantled the drain. I'm off to Home Hardware shortly to get the pieces we need. Then I'll have to do a massive sink full of dishes.

The new aquarium is full, the filter's running and I'm excited to start putting fish in it soon. Need to wait a couple of days though.

My friend Patty (radio news reporter,) came over during all the hoopala and stood drinking wine while all the assorted water tasks were completed. She also bartered an old radio for Bob (next door) inspecting her dishwasher which is not working as a trade! (Acutally she just offered the radio long before the dishwasher came up but still, all in all, everyone made out well tonight!

Then we sat sipping wine and chatting for the rest of the evening. I needed that after all the drama!
