Wow... small bump in front end $$$$$

Ok, my license plate holder was pushed back into my bumper, which chipped . I figured a couple of hundred max... two estimates later, one's almost $700.00 the other $600.00. I was gobsmacked! I have three stage, clear coat paint, the bumper has to come off to be fixed properly...yada yada. I called the woman who hit me and she was less than impressed. I don't blame her really. She was at at drive through getting her dinner and to make it worse, the guy forgot her Pepsi! She's not having a good day either. She told me "they" paint their own cars in their garage (at their home I assume?) for $50.00 all the time. I'm not too sure about that one? It's still a good car and well, I'm more comfortable with a real body shop. I emailed her the estimates and am waiting for her to tell me what she wants to do. I hope I didn't make a mistake in judgement by not calling the Police etc.? She seems nice though, so likely all will be well :)

Long gone are the days of $50.00 fender benders I guess. All I wanted to do was get a new paper that didn't smell of cat pee! sigh...

Happy Tuesday... fffffffffffffffttttttttttt!

So lets see... Day started by going to get the newspaper. The one that used to be delivered into my mailbox and is now tossed onto my porch with an elastic around it. I picked it up and... a cat had peed on it! Yep, that's twice in a week. We have a few, (few defined as 169) strays in the neighbourhood. So... I had to go to the store to get Bob a new paper. I was on Caron Avenue, waiting behind a blue Sunfire to make a right turn. She was going straight. She started to go, changed her mind and backed up into the front end of my car.

Ruining my accumulating record of two years and one month for not having a car accident! I think this is number 11 in 9 years or maybe 9 in 11 years though I think the point is moot as the basic issue is obvious. I'm a magnet. I have a "please hit me" arrow over me. I do know that this happens only when I'm alone in the car... well except the one time I had 7 kids in my Town Car, all but one happened within three blocks of my house, the other in front of my work and it doesn't matter what I'm driving. Towne Car, Comet, Olds 88, Olds 2 door sport, Grand Am I've smacked em all up! So far the Malibu has escaped my magnet (shhhhhhhhhhh!.)

Oscar afterthoughts

Marnie, The Birds, Mrs. Miniver, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Wait Until Dark, Backstreet, The Picture of Dorian Grey, Imitation of Life, Rosemary's Baby... All the "Planet of the Apes" films, Soylent Green, and any and all original, dubbed Godzilla movies! OMG when they used to hold marathon weekends I thought I'd died and gone to Japanese Monster Movie heaven! (I'm only talking about 10 years ago!) Big Sinbad fan too... all of them.

So, had a party AGAIN, last night. T'was an interesting one. We played cards AGAIN, I lost every time AGAIN!

My friend's daughter, Danielle, is starring in "Annie" next month! I can't wait to see/hear her. Ummm her Daddy may have a complete nervous breakdown by then! It's tough when "Litte Girls" start to grow up eh?

I feel badly for her. That last video was pathetic. Her lawyer/boyfriend should be in jail. I'm sure he sold the footage, he as much as said he was going to on the tape.

Sunday outings

Well, Bob (next door,) Susan and I went over to Patty's (radio reporter) and fixed her dishwasher,(well Bob (next door) fixed the dishwaser,) we drank wine (yes at 1pm on a Sunday, what's it to you?) and picked up her antique radio.

I came home, finished up the new aquarium. Not sure if 8 gold fish isn't a tad too much for a 30 gallon but we shall see. I took the 5 gallon apart but am leaving the 15 gallon running just in case. Someone needs to tell the little beggars that they now have a ginormous amount of space. All 8 of them (and they are NOT small fish,) huddle in one corner. They need to expand their horizions dammit!

Patty, me and some other friends/work mates/family went to Dean Martini's for a VIP night where we were tres VIPish. Free drinks reserved seats and ballots for a $1000 diamond necklace. Hope you don't have to be there to win as I left just after 11pm. (old)
If I win, hmmmm... I don't like diamonds. Cold/hard/colourless... EBay?

I must go to bed, Cable's coming tomorrow. I have a firm appointment... between 8am and 5pm! My upload/download speeds suck. (pardon the techy term!) I called, I explained I had eliminated my computer/moden/router as the cause and that he should run a line test... He didn't believe me, we chatted, I techy talked him into running a test and... ta da... problems on the line. Massive spikes. I already knew that as they fried my RAM two years ago and I bought an $80.00 power bar that my cable goes into before the modem. The problem? I am house #1 of 500... re-set me, you get phone calls from 499 other houses. I will still let them come out and tell me the same thing. Then make them change my wires. Sometimes, it just doesn't pay to be #1 :(
